Program Introduction

The Biomedical and Biotechnology Master's program at Brown University is an interdisciplinary program that provides students with fundamental understanding of life sciences and advanced skills for applying these to medical and industrial applications. The program integrates basic scientific knowledge in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, immunology, and microbiology with applications in drug development, tissue engineering, genomics, proteomics, and bioinformatics, preparing students to address challenges in modern biomedical research and the biotechnology industry. This program has received STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) designation, allowing international students to benefit from up to three years of Optional Practical Training (OPT) after graduation. This master's program offers a balanced approach of theoretical knowledge and practical experience, helping students develop as professionals in the fields of biomedicine and biotechnology.
