Program Introduction
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at Rutgers University is an undergraduate program designed to support students from diverse backgrounds in becoming professional nurses. It offers three track options: the traditional four-year track, RN to BS track, and second-degree track. The curriculum emphasizes core nursing competencies such as nursing theory and practice, patient-centered care, community health, ethics, and leadership—preparing students for RN licensure and professional practice in the U.S. Courses are offered across Rutgers' Newark, New Brunswick, and Blackwood campuses, with a blend of full-time and flexible online learning formats to accommodate working professionals and students with varying schedules. Upon graduation, students are well-equipped to begin their careers as registered nurses, supported by clinical experience in local hospitals and healthcare facilities, along with leadership training.
